Reducing the Appearance of Under Eye Hollows,
Fine Lines and Darkness

Collagen stimulation is the key to long term improvement in the delicate under eye region.
Let us show you how to rejuvenate this area safely and gradually.

The under eye region can be one of the most challenging to address in aesthetics! Although emphasis tends to get placed on dermal filler,
the so called “tear trough filler” correction, filler does not address the common concern of fine lines in this region. Additionally, the effect
of wrinkle relaxers/”botox” are often not sufficient to get our client’s the level of smoothing they are looking for.

The key to smoothing in this area is to implement procedures which restore lost collagen to the skin, and we have several procedures
which do just that! Where you begin depends on your particular anatomy and wrinkle severity, your budget, your tolerance for downtime,
and your personal preferences.

Restoration of a youthful look to the under eye region typically requires attention to both the tear trough area and the cheeks, as well as
collagen building in the skin itself with modalities such as Ultherapy smoothing or CO2 resurfacing Laser or PDO smoothing eye threads.

4 Main Categories of
treatment

Treatments which restore lost collagen and/or volume to the under eye and
peri-orbital regions

The treatments recommended will depend on your particular concerns
and anatomy. Sometimes it makes sense to do more than one type of
treatment over time, or to “alternate” treatments. Our consultants and
providers can assist you in making the best choice for you!

Dermal Filler

A manual process seeks to remove or disrupt the unwanted fibrous tissue. Examples: Collagen Microneedling, Subscision, Dermabrasion- all of which can be combined with topical such as PRP to enhance the tissue response further

Microinjury Induction

Creating microinjury to stimulate new collagen production is a foundational practice in aesthetics. There are a number of methods to do this. From gentle microneedling to laser skin resurfacing with our SmartSkin CO2 laser, we can gradually resurface even this delicate area safely and effectively over the course of a series of treatments. Ultherapy is another option- using microfocused ultrasound, heat is delivered to the skin layer which contain fibroblasts, stimulating them to produce new collagen.

Smoothing PDO Eye threads

PDO Eye threads are very fine dissolving threads, as thin as a strand of hair, which can be placed under the skin in this delicate target region. They provide support to the skin and will dissolve gradually over the course of about 3 months. However, while there, they are potent collagen stimulators and the collagen they produce can last for years!

Platelet Rich Plasma/Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix

PDO Eye threads are very fine dissolving threads, as thin as a strand of hair, which can be placed under the skin in this delicate target region. They provide support to the skin and will dissolve gradually over the course of about 3 months. However, while there, they are potent collagen stimulators and the collagen they produce can last for years!

Planning your Periorbital Rejuvenation

This table may assist you in beginning to understand some of the considerations we take
into account when recommending particular interventions for the periorbital region

In general, we will assess the degree of volume loss and loss of support in the under-eye region, the so called “tear trough” area which
includes the support from the upper cheek (mid face volume). Next we look at the color of the skin, it’s thickness, and the degree of
severity of fine lines. Procedures vary in terms of potential “downtime” (swelling, redness, risk of bruising), and some produce “instant
gratification” but most do require a period of time before the final results of that procedure are evident. We do recommend that you
consider a high quality eye cream to use at home to protect and support your collagen and elastin, and we have several to choose from
here at Renew.

Questions?
We've Got You Covered!

Call us at 603-894-0070 to set up your free “Limited Consultation”, if you simply want to discuss your under eye concerns, or a full “Head to Toe Consultation” if you have other goals you would like to discuss at the same time.

One of our experiences nurses or medical assistants will review your history and take photographs of your specific areas of concern.

They will review some of the common treatment approaches in more depth, and/or answer questions about specific procedures you feel are most of interest to you, including treatment pricing. They will then present the photos and consult information to Dr. Vuich for her input and recommendations. Within a few days you will receive a return call letting you know Dr. Vuich’s input/recommendations.

We will help you select the best start based on our many years of experience with all of these treatment modalities.

In some instances a combination of treatment types may be suggested. The table provided above gives you some insight into what considerations are taken into account when making recommendations. Some clients have very little tolerance for downtime due to home and work situations, in which case laser skin resurfacing for example would not be a good choice because of the downtime associated with it. PDO eye threads and Ultherapy are treatments with little or no downtime for most clients, making them the more acceptable options in that scenario.
