Lichen Sclerosus Treatment

The experts at Renew MediSpa have dedicated a decade to the treatment of women’s intimate wellness concerns. We are the premier providers of intimate wellness services in the state, and often service patients from surrounding states as well. Dr. Lisa Vuich is a Key Opinion Leader in the field and has been called onto deliver lectures on these topics by organizations such as the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, Specialty Med Training, and GulfCoast Biologics.

She is also the Chief Physician Liaison for Bridging Biosciences- a group working to develop new technologies for quality control and outcomes measurements for cell therapies such as platelet rich plasma.

Dr. Vuich has participated in the design of TrueDose PRP/the Transcend Customized PRP Protocol- first of its kind in the nation, this protocol ensures that the dose platelets delivered for regenerative procedures meets the highest standards in the industry. She has also launched an IRB approved clinical study in 2024 in the field of sexual wellness procedures, in partnership with Bridging Biosciences.

We are passionate about improving the lives of the women we care for, and would be honored to serve you.

  • You must have had an evaluation and diagnosis with your primary care provider/gynecologist. We do not ‘diagnose’ LS, but we offer effective treatment for it when traditional medical approaches have failed or when you desire to improve symptoms and/or potentially be able to discontinue prescription medication use.
  • Steroid cream should be discontinued or minimized once treatment has begun. This is easy for most women once they have begun our treatment protocols.
  • We do use topical numbing agents and a small lidocaine injection as well for the PRP procedure. Your comfort is a top priority for us.
  • First session- The standard O shot (PRP injection) will be performed, and an additional quantity of PRP will be injected into the regions of skin involved with LS. You will also be treated with one of our radiofrequency vaginal devices, as we have found this combination to be highly successful for our clients.
  • A second injection (external) may be recommended. Thereafter, subsequent external treatments are on an as needed basis (range 3 times a year or less in most cases)
  • You MUST continue to be followed by your specialist (ObGyn, Dermatology), with surveillance biopsies to monitor for squamous cell skin cancer- there is a slightly higher incidence of this skin cancer in LS patients
  • We encourage you to notify your primary care providers about the treatments you are having done and the success you are having with treatment. it’s important to get the word out that these therapies are life changing! We are happy to discuss our treatments with any medical personnel with your permission.

Topical steroid ointments such as clobetasol have previously been the mainstay of treatment, but require daily application and have significant side effects. In many women, there is only partial symptom control.

We have been able to get our LS clients off of steroid creams, symptom free, and even reduce scarring.

We have several RF modalities to choose from- ThermiVa, FormaV and Morpheus 8V, and recommend that one of these be utilized along with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).

We will help you select the treatment course that best matches your symptom severity and your goals and preferences.

Consider also FemiWave- non-invasive low intensity shockwave therapy is another method which promotes tissue healing, stimulates blood flow and stem cells to the region, and reduces pain and inflammation.

Introducing Pro-Nox!

Renew Medispa is excited to offer Pro-Nox, a nitrous oxide gas which you can use during your procedure, for reducing pain and inducing a pleasurable feeling.

Fast acting, safe, and short duration- It is the ideal clinical pain reliever and anti-anxiety measure, which can further enhance your comfort during procedures.

Preparing for Your Procedure:

  • Avoid the use of anti-inflammatory medication before and after the procedure (ex: ibuprofen/motrin/aleve/naprosyn/aspirin/prednisone and other steroids including topical creams). Tylenol (acetaminophen) products are fine.
  • Please arrive early to review and sign paperwork and complete payment.
  • If you are having Radiofrequency Vaginal Rejuvenation, this will be done first.
  • Then, in preparation for the PRP procedure, a topical numbing agent will be applied . Your blood will be drawn and carefully prepared for administration.
  • Our PRP preparation kit is sterile, FDA approved, and produces one of the highest available concentrations of platelet & growth factors in a pure plasma suspension, without red blood cells.
  • Topical numbing is used to ensure that discomfort is minimal. You are also welcome to request ProNox to help you relax during the procedure.
